Feel the Fear & Do it Anyway

It's hump day! Many folks seem to dread this day, because it makes them realize it's only Wednesday...2 more days until Friday. Up until recently, I also felt this way. But now, Wednesdays are actually my favorite weekday!

I purposely make time to do all my writing (blog posts, newsletters, trainer tips for clients) on Wednesdays - I love to create content! I also schedule in some "me" time to meditate, do a strength training workout, read my devotional and get out in nature with my pup. I have set up my schedule so I look forward to Wednesdays. This allows me to press pause, reflect on the week, and get focused on how to tackle the rest of the week. Thursdays are my busiest days in terms of client phone calls, so for me, it is crucial to have that day before to get my mind right!

I understand we do not all have the chance to necessarily make our own schedules, but what you do have is the control over your mindset and how you approach each day. You have the power to look at your life and determine what is working well and what is not, which brings me to today's topic, FEAR. Today, I want you to push your limits, to go out and do what you are afraid of!

Fear is something we often try to avoid. It makes us feel uncomfortable. It makes our palms sweat and our mouths go dry. Fear is, well, terrifying. But what if you weren't afraid? Or better yet, what would happen if you felt your fears, acknowledged them and then faced them head on? How would your life look? Would you act a certain way? Would you DO MORE? What is currently holding you back from addressing your fears?

What I want you to think about today is the one fear that has been on your mind. Is it speaking up to your boss (there were SO many times I should have done this and didn't...ugh)? Are you afraid of not losing the weight/failing at your workout program? Do you want to pursue your dream job but think you don't know enough or aren't good enough? Are you afraid to talk to your partner about why you have been fighting so much? Whatever your fear may be, allow yourself to fully experience it.

Take 5 minutes today to address your most pressing fear. Write down what would happen if you faced it head on. What action would you take? How do you feel now that you have addressed it? What does the fear-conquering new you accomplish when you allow yourself to feel the fear and passionately purse it anyway?

Trust me, I am not perfect at doing this. I am a constant work in progress, but as I wrote this post, I realized something extremely important. I am actually doing what I was so afraid of for the longest time. I am pursuing my dream. I am living out my passion every day. Sometimes I don't know how I got here. Sometimes it feels like I am flitting around like a wild bird, but I am damn glad I persevered and finally mustered up the courage to not let fear rule over me.

Because I took action to pursue owning my own Personal Training and Health Coaching Business, I now get to do what I love, help people accomplish their own goals and dreams. I have the opportunity to change lives and do what brings me true joy and fulfillment. I credit a lot of this to finally listening to the voices in my head, "You don't know enough. You have no business experience. What if you fail? How can this possibly be a good idea?" I hated those voices! But I really listened to them. I acknowledged all my fears and hesitations, and I WENT FOR IT ANYWAY!

I have failed along the way. I have been on a rollercoaster journey, and I have loved every single twist and turn. Why? Because FEAR has made me grow. FEAR has changed me for the better. FEAR is why I get to help others become their healthiest, happiest and most confident self

Today, ask yourself what you are really waiting for. Why haven't you pursued what you are most afraid of? Address your hesitations, and then ask yourself,  "What if I went for it anyway?"

I know how scary it can be to make changes to your life, but what if you took the first step today? What if I told you I have been right where you are and have the ability to change your life forever?
